How to prepare for a job interview so you’ll convince interviewer that you are the “Right fit for Job”

  1. Research the company and brand: At the interview, you may well be asked questions about the company. learn about the company, business by looking at multiple sources, and be ready to talk about why you’d like to work there and what you can do for them.
  2. Understand the role and position: Understand the job description in details, what skills, responsibilities, and experiences are they emphasizing?
  3. Learn about the interviewers & Panel: For each interviewer, learn what their role at the company is and prep some questions that are specific to them.
  4. Respect the schedule: Plan to arrive for your interview 10-15 minutes before the appointed time.
  5. Brush up on your interview skills: Learned to prepare your answers to common interview questions and practice some interview techniques.

  1. Figure out what to wear: Make sure your outfit is cleaned, ironed or steamed, and tailored if needed (a modern fit is best). Shine your shoes, casual environment, business casual is appropriate for an interview. Do a little pampering, like haircut, shave etc-Feeling good about yourself will boost your confidence.
  2. Look appropriate and Professional: Make some pleasant small talk at the beginning. Always smile, listen and be authentic.
  3. Prepare for Online/Virtual Interview: If you’re doing your online interview over the computer/laptop or the phone, make sure ahead of time that all the needed hardware, software, and network connections are working smoothly.
  4. Print-out copies of resume & Study well: If you’re going to an in-person interview, you’ll want to bring enough copies of your resume
  5. Know why you’re interested in this Position at company: It’s likely you’ll get asked why you’re interested in this particular role and company. So to make sure you can answer, identify a couple of key factors about the job and the organization that align well with your strengths, interests, and/or work style and get you excited about the position.
  6. Think about your body language: Be aware of what you’re communicating through your posture and stance—and make sure it’s good.
    • Don’t be overly aggressive by shaking hands too firmly. It can be interpreted as a sign of an over-confident, dominant or aggressive personality.
